P. Terry’s is one of the championed local fast food chains in town where Austinites don’t feel that terrible about their decisions to chomp down on burgers and fries. In the mornings, the burgers are made breakfast-ready with an egg, alongside alongside banana bread, potatoes, and coffee, served until 11 a.m. daily.
The titular Patrick Terry, founder and owner, had always wanted to open the burger stand, and was furthered inspired by Fast Food Nation. "There's an innocence about it that I think appeals to me," he told Eater previously. Currently, there are 12 locations, including the downtown spot without a drive-thru and the newest addition to the family on North Lamar and West Koenig Lane, with more coming.
The burger chain let Eater take a peek at a week’s worth of its breakfast numbers for all locations, just for Breakfast Week. Everything is made fresh in P. Terry's commissary kitchen. The conclusion? People really love eggs and coffee.
