Essential coffee shop Patika started out as a tiny coffee cart in downtown Austin in 2010, graduating into brick and mortar status on South Lamar in September 2014. Co-owners Andy Wigginton and Nick Krupa were inspired to start their own venture after tasting Blue Bottle Coffee in San Francisco. Along with coffee, the shop sells baked goods made in-house, plus beer, wine, and bar snacks later in the evenings, often accompanied by live music. Don’t worry: the downtown cart still operates.
In the midst of Breakfast Week, Wiggington shared Patika's coffee and pastry sales from Saturday, February 6, which are seen in the helpful infographic below. Cappuccinos are more popular than vanilla and mocha lattes, and many people still prefer just straight up coffee. Gluten-free treats like pop tarts, muffins, and cookies do well, along with muffins. Java lovers don't miss coffee time by sleeping in, and six customers couldn't breakfast cake.
