East Side King Thai Kun’s brick and mortar is set to debut any moment now in the Domain’s booming Rock Rose district. Helmed by Thai Changthong, Paul Qui, Moto Utsunomiya, and chef de cuisine Clinton Kendall, the new restaurant allows the team to expand on the popular food truck’s menu, adding family-style dishes, draft cocktails, and desserts.
Eater took a tour of the vivid space, covered in Peelander Yellow’s wonderfully weird signature murals. The private room can open up to the rest of the restaurant with sliding window blinds. Along with bar, booth, and table seating, there will be an expansive patio. The counter window will eventually serve late night dishes to the evening crowds. The restaurant was designed by Weiss Architecture, which also worked on several Kerbey Lanes, Vince Young Steakhouse, and Daruma.
