Bill Murray Hangs Out at Franklin Barbecue

Actor Bill Murray came, he saw, he kicked ass at Franklin Barbecue and probably got to skip the line. He was in town and no Austin trip is complete without a visit to the acclaimed barbecue spot.

Murray poked around the smokers, and posed for photos with pitmaster Aaron Franklin, including the wonderfully goofy photo above with the perfect hashtag: #brisketsblessedbybillmurray.

The comedian’s been in town attending musician Lupe Fiasco's show at the Belmont. Perhaps he’ll follow up this visit with a breakfast taco from Veracruz All Natural?

One of the last times Murray’s been in Austin, he set up shop behind Shangri-La’s bar, doling out tequila and whiskey shots for swooning patrons during SXSW. More recently, he bartended an event at his son's Brooklyn bar in the fall, pouring and taking a lot of shots of tequila.

The actor had a great time celebrating at The Lodge Tavern in Chicago after the Cubs won the World Series earlier this fall, and he’s known for making the rounds in Charleston, where he is a part-time resident.
