— Olamaie won Wine & Swine's audience vote during the pig-filled event on Sunday. The Southern restaurant whipped up pulled pork sandwich with apple slaw and butternut squash butter. It will receive $1,500 from Tender Belly.

— Sunday was a busy day for pig-centric food events. Traveling hog event Cochon 555 made its Austin stop yesterday and Bryce Gilmore was dubbed the BBQ King with Odd Duck’s winning plate using a Berkshire pig from Richardson Farm.

— Launderette chef Rene Ortiz threw in his two cents on people taking photos of his food. He approves, which is which he approves of. which is good since people are obsessed with that Instagram-perfect birthday cake ice cream sandwich.

— Texas food writer Robb Walsh is a fan of Amaya’s Taco Village and Franklin Barbecue for Austin-based smoked meats. He also shared home barbecuing tips and and his thoughts on the surge of popularity of barbecue over on a Reddit AMA last Friday.
