Luxurious candy shop Sugarfina opened its first Austin location with Domain Northside last week, doling out fancy treats like rose gummies, nonpareils-covered champagne bubbles, and maple bourbon balls. It debuted last Friday, September 30.

This is the edible boutique’s first standalone Texas store. To mark the occasion, Sugarfina whipped up special cowboy cactus gummies, which tastes like prickly pear. There are outposts within Nordstrom in Houston and Highland Park Village in Dallas.

Co-founders and couple Rosie O'Neill and Josh Resnick were inspired to open Sugarfina, first as an online venture , after a date watching Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. They wanted to create a candy-filled wonderland for adults, which meant gourmet candies, often filled with booze. This lead to the website in 2012, followed by the sleek picturesque retail spot in Beverly Hills in 2013.

Sugarfina Austin’s hours are from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday. Customers can expect complimentary tastings and events in the near future.

Sweet Domain Northside neighbors will include Sprinkles' 24/7 cupcake vending machine and storefront opening next month, and Frost Gelato’s second Austin location.
