Help La Barbecue Find the Idiot Who Stole the Trailer’s Tip Jar

Someone broke into La Barbecue’s trailer and stole the barbecue spot’s tip jar sometime early on Monday morning. According to general manager Ali Clem, a manager arrived at the trailer and noticed that the door latch was cut. That person then realized that the tip jar was gone.

The entire theft was caught on La Barbecue’s security camera. A police report was filed immediately and Clem posted a still from the footage on Instagram, hoping that others would be able to identify the person. It turns out just down the street, someone also broke into Vegan Yacht. Clem told Eater that the vegan trailer’s neighbor Juan in a Million caught that person on video, who they believe is the same culprit, and the cops found a fingerprint.

While La Barbecue famously only accepts credit cards (aside from American Express) for orders, cash tips are still allowed. The trailer is looking for any information that could lead to identifying the person.

This isn’t the first time La Barbecue had to deal with jerks. At one of the trailer’s earlier locations on East 6th and Waller streets, a group of people overturned its porta potties in 2014. The trailer posted security footage of the vandals, who were identified with assistance from crowdsourcing.
