New York Times rumormongers the possibility of a Trump Hotel in downtown Austin. The publication took a deep look at the Chinese investment proposal for the Austin Mirabeau Trump Hotel, but couldn't solidly establish the connection between the request and Donald Trump’s company. Austin Business Journal determined the project would be found on Red River and 12th streets. A Trump hotel rep said, "While we do not have confirmed deals nor any investments in Austin, we remain interested in this market from a brand and management standpoint."

— After this year’s cancellation, Austin Food & Wine Festival will take place on Friday, April 28 through Sunday, April 30 in 2017.

— After temporarily closing its patio in April, Moonshine Patio Bar & Grill reveals its brand new outdoor space, which includes a rounded covered roof. Moonshine still plans on opening two new locations in Round Rock and southwest Austin.

— El Chile is now making its corn and flour tortillas again.
