Michi Ramen’s third noodle-slinging spot is now open on campus. For the soft open, the menu will include selected sides, along with the full ramen lineup, from from the namesake option, meat lovers, all the way to Jungle with Thai chilis and a lemongrass tonkotsu.
Before the third Michi came about, the noodle shop ran a Japanese street food restaurant in the space in the back of campus dive bar Hole in the Wall called Yatai. It decided to switch up the concept earlier this month for the third location instead.
There’s a strong history of ramen in the space in the back of campus dive bar Hole in the Wall. It was where East Side King had its noodle soup-focused branch before it shuttered in late 2015.
The newest Michi will offer counter service with initial hours from 5 p.m. to midnight, Tuesday through Sunday. A rep informed Eater that delivery and lunch specials are in the works. The original shop debuted on North Lamar in 2013, followed by the take-out only location on South Lamar in 2015.
