— Fresa's Chicken al Carbon is giving away a single free breakfast taco this morning from 8 to 11 a.m. at the South First location, available for take-away or dine-in on the patio.

— Austin’s new St. David's Surgical Hospital includes an in-house restaurant with a wood-fired oven.

— Real Ale Brewing Company is recalling specific bottles of its beers because of something wrong with the glass used for the beers. The glass could potentially break into the bottle. The brewery is looking for six-pack 12 ounce bottles of Devil's Backbone with the best before date of 3/13/17 and timed 16:20 to 23:00, as well as 3/20/17 in north Texas, and Hans' Pils 12-pack bottles in Austin, San Antonio, and surrounding areas dated 1/20/17.

— Car blog Jalopnik included a mini-how to eat in Austin guide with its Formula One preview, which means tacos from Tacodeli, Fresa's free ones available today, and El Tacorrido, all-hour pancakes from Kerbey Lane and Magnolia Cafe, and later night barbecue.

— Olamaie is partnering with freelance pitmaster (for now) Evan LeRoy for a UT tailgate on Saturday, October 29 from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. LeRoy will smoke up meats, Olamaie will provide sides and endless punch bowls, and Live Oak Brewery will pour beers. Tickets are $60.

— Rentsch Brewery is expanding its space up in Georgetown with way more production capacity, allowing it to can its beers, and a beer garden, which will debut next spring.

— Southwestern chain Z’Tejas is giving St. Jude Research Children's Hospital a portion of all sales of its cornbread from now until the end of the year as part of its Cornbread for a Cause initiative.

— Yes, there’s something that will spray butter called Biem, and the founder and Austinite Doug Foreman  was featured on Shark Tank last week. and received investment money from one of the participants.
