— People really love barbecue: Aaron Franklin’s Franklin Barbecue: A Meat-Smoking Manifesto made Publishers Weekly's list of the ten best selling cookbooks of last year.

— UT's first season of selling beer and wine during Darrel K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium games did very, very well for the university. Sales were over $1.8 million, as reported by the Houston Chronicle, with Miller Lite topping that list.

Austin Monthly’s 2016 bucket list includes drinking at The Cloak Room, trying to finish two of Trudy's dangerous drinks, and finishing Juan in a Million's Don Juan challenge.

— General Mills bought Austin-based Epic Provisions this week, makers of protein-heavy snack bars, snacks, and jerky. The company will remain in Texas.
