— People really love barbecue: Aaron Franklin’s Franklin Barbecue: A Meat-Smoking Manifesto made Publishers Weekly's list of the ten best selling cookbooks of last year.

— UT's first season of selling beer and wine during Darrel K. Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium games did very, very well for the university. Sales were over $1.8 million, as reported by the Houston Chronicle, with Miller Lite topping that list.
