Gourdough’s, the immorally decadent doughnut shop, is expanding with a second truck up in Allandale, as pointed out by an eagle-eyed tipster. Co-owner Ryan Palmer told Eater the trailer is aiming to open by the first week of February. It will join the forthcoming food trailer park in 5000 Burnet Road’s empty parking lot.
Palmer said the menu will be the same as the South 1st one, including favorites like the Flying Pig, Mother Clucker, and Black Out. He had been looking for a north location for a while, since there are already central and south spots, so this "evens us out."
Other food trucks sharing the lot, which includes a jungle gym, will be Tucson-style hot dog trailer Sonora. The space will feature a covered building in the back with seating and restrooms.
The doughnut trailer first opened in 2009, followed by two boozy brick and mortars. The first took over the former Kerbey Lane building on South Lamar in 2012, followed by the downtown location early last year. The original trailer currently runs on South 1st Street.
