SOUTH LAMAR — It's now possible to traverse the two stories at Backbeat, as evidenced by the photo of the completed stairway. The new bar concept by Drink.Well owners Michael and Jessica Sanders is slated to open in time for SXSW and will feature quirky cocktails with jazzy names.

SOUTH CONGRESS — According to its Facebook page, the Austin location of salad bistro Vinaigrette, located at the former Treehouse Italian Grill, is just a couple of weeks away from a soft opening.

CRESTVIEW — The rebirth of Baby Greens continues apace, as evidenced by photos shared by proprietor Sharon Mays. Austin salad lovers rejoiced when it was announced that they would be able to once again enjoy freshly made entree salads in a fast food context sometime in 2016.

HUDSON BEND — There's fresh concrete on the ground at 827 Ray's, the forthcoming wine-centric French restaurant from chef Wayne Brooks.

DOWNTOWN — JW Marriott is making progress on the new wine bar at Osteria Pronto, the Italian concept among the suite of restaurants at the swanky downtown hotel.
