Chef Abby Yates is now the head chef of No Va on Rainey Street. She previously worked as sous chef at Swift’s Attic and now shuttered Fork & Taco under Philip Speer.
Yates’ official No Va title is kitchen manager, which means she oversees the back of house and menu. During her reign so far, which started last fall, she added more gluten-free items and vegetable-centric dishes.
Founding executive chef Brad Sorenson opened the New American restaurant in 2013. He left last fall to join Alamo Drafthouse's test kitchen. Sous chef Chris S. Dodd temporarily took over his position.
