Cooper's Old Time Pit Bar-B-Que finally opened for dinner on Congress Avenue, after a slow roll out. The full barbecue menu, served cafeteria style and available for lunch and dinner, features all the smoked meat favorites: brisket, beef ribs, chicken, turkey, sausage, pork, cabrito, and more.
The downtown barbecue restaurant includes outdoor seating, communal tables, two bars, a music stage, all-you-can-eat beans, and a retail section for sauces and apparel. The barbecue pits are located outside in the back. Pitmaster Eddie Solis trained in the original Llano barbecue spot.
Cooper’s debuted the second floor Llano Lounge in December, followed by the entire restaurant serving just the bar menu in early January. There are four Cooper's in Texas, the Llano original, Forth Worth, New Braunfels, and Austin. Restaurant hours are from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day. The Llano Lounge is open later until midnight from Sunday through Thursday, and until 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.
