Chi’lantro’s kimchi fries are coming to far north Austin with the third location of the Korean-Mexican mini-empire in the shuttered Boise Fry Company space on Burnet. The address appeals to owner Jae Kim because "there’s so much growth happening" in the area, as he told Eater. Expect a quick turnaround if the other two locations are any indication. Update, February 1: Look out for the new location in April.

Kim will also be able to expand catering into Cedar Park, Round Rock, and other areas north of Austin. The popular food truck was offered a spot within the burgeoning Rock Rose district in the nearby Domain before there were any brick and mortars in the picture, so he passed.

Chi’Lantro’s first truck opened in 2010 with kimchi fries and tacos. The first brick and mortar took over A-OK Chinese on South Lamar in January, and then moved onto Allandale within the closed Man Bites Dog spot. Kim has plans to open more sites before the end of 2017.
