Veracruz All Natural, the adored taco trailer, is finally opening its first brick and mortar restaurant up in Round Rock. It will be found on 2177 La Frontera Boulevard, in the shuttered Texas Steak Out spot, near Brooklyn Pie Co. and Pho Dan. Eater has reached out for more information, watch this space for updates.
Update, January 19: Co-owner Reyna Vasquez told Eater that the Round Rock location is perfect because "we want to each as many people as possible." They're looking to open on February. She's still looking for an Austin location and "thinking about new ideas for a concept that would compliment our existing food trucks, but offer our clients something new," she explained.
The news comes after plans to open a brick and mortar on 2301 East Cesar Chavez fell through in late 2014 because of permitting issues. Vasquez previously told Eater she was interested in expanding the menu with more brunch, enchiladas, and more.
Known for its handmade tortillas, amazing migas, and spicy salsas, Veracruz currently has three blue trailers in rotation: the original East Cesar Chavez, the one over on Manchaca Road within Radio Coffee and Beer, and then the newest truck at Hotel Vegas. Sisters Reyna and Maritza Vazquez opened the Eater 38 spot in 2008. Both Emeril Lagasse and Aaron Franklin are fans.
