Bufalina Due, the pizza expansion from owner Steven Dilley’s Bufalina, is set to make its Burnet Road debut on Saturday, January 16. Eater photographer Robert J. Lerma took a tour of the Neapolitan pizzeria. The larger space is similar to the original one on East Cesar Chavez: wooden seats, white walls, communal tables, bar stools, and a great view of the giant Stefano Ferrara oven that had to be brought inside with a crane.

Heading the kitchen will be executive chef Alexandra Manley, and the more traditional kitchen means the menu will include new items alongside those signature pies. Initial hours will be from 5 to 11 p.m., Wednesdays through Sundays. Dilley plans on expanding with lunch come spring, something that isn’t available at the first spot. Barley Swine will soon become a new neighbor this month, too.

In more exciting pizza news, Bufalina is hosting New York favorite Roberta’s for a four-day pop-up later this month, including a special Texas-inspired pie. Later this year, Dallas pizzeria Cane Rosso is all set to take over St. Philip’s abandoned ovens for an Austin location.
