It’s time again to look ahead to the new restaurants coming to Austin, including sushi, pizza, kava tea expansions, a new hotel eatery, and more.
Chain RA Sushi opens its first Austin venture on Monday, October 19, next to Capital Grille on West 4th. Rolls, sashimi, nigiri, lunch specials like bowls and bento boxes, and even brunch with bottomless Bloody Marys and mimosas are in store.
Downtown is also getting yet another hotel, this time from Aloft Hotel. The second Austin branch of the chain, with one already at The Domain, will bring a restaurant and bar to Congress Avenue and 7th Street. The projected opening date for the entire project is summer of 2017.
SquareRut Kava Bar, purveyors of the soothing tea, is taking over the former Flipnotics space on Barton Springs for its third spot. There are already locations on South Congress and North Lamar. There is no opening date yet.
Seattle-based customizable pizza franchise Mod Pizza expands with a fourth location over on 1920 E. Riverside Drive this October. The spot will feature a patio.
More tea is headed for the city, this time from Tea2Go and its first Austin site on 8300 N Ranch Road 620, Suite 300. Over 120 different types of tea will be offered for takeout, drive-thru, or drinking in one of the lounges. It will open in October.
