— Nick Offerman really, really, really loves Texas barbecue, according to his Reddit AMA this week.

— To help out Lola Stephen’s charitable efforts with Eater 38 Nubian Queen Lola Cajun, Tyson Foods, the Arkansas-based meat processor, is donating a year’s worth of chicken to the restaurant.

— Brunch is coming on Sunday, September 20 to Gardner, as seen by Forks Up, who attended a preview of the weekend meal. Expect doughnut holes, Bloody Marys, bialys, and grits.

— The Taco Journalism duo wrapped up research for their second book, The Tacos of Texas. Over 500 tacos were eaten.

— Night owl caffiene fiends can add Monkey Nest to their list of places to frequent: the Burnet Road coffee shop is now open 24 hours.

— Launderette made it on Southern Living’s best restaurants of the year list. Elsewhere in the publication, barbecue editor Robert Moss said Freedmen’s Bar served the best smoked meats in a bar setting.
