Food Trucks on UT Campus, Austin Alcohol Sales, and More A.M. Intel

The latest four restaurant tidbits in Austin served right now.

— Independent food trucks will now be allowed to operate on campus, after approval of the college’s student government. The initiative included suggested food trucks like Torchy’s, Chi’Lantro, and The Peached Tortilla.

According to The Statesmen, the JW Marriott, with its two restaurants and pool and lobby bars, sold the most alcohol in Austin last month. Also making the top ten list of bars and restaurants were Chupacabra Cantina, Blind Pig Pub, Punch Bowl Social, and the W Hotel.

— With the addition of a new terminal at the Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, the city is looking for new businesses, including dining and beverage vendors, for the space.

— South Congress Cuban restaurant Habana is accusing a now-fired employee of passing along its recipes to another similar spot, Guantanamera, after he found out that some of staff were leaving for the new restaurant. Owner Ron Flores told KVUE: "The menu is all the same."
