There’s another barbecue documentary out now: For the Love of Meat, which examines the methods and motivations of some of Central Texas key barbecue players. Included are a baby Aaron Franklin from back in his original trailer days (which is in the process of being turned into a takeout window) and Tootsie Tomanetz from Snow’s BBQ in Lexington. It wouldn’t be a film about Texas barbecue without someone from the Mueller family, and this time, it’s Wayne Mueller from Louie Mueller BBQ.

The four-man team behind the documentary raised over $3,000 through Kickstarter for production funds. Watch the trailer, complete with tempting shots of meats being smoked and cut, below. Violet Crown is also screening the film on Thursday, October 8, as part of its CineBrew series, which means there will be paired beers. Update, 2:03 p.m.:second screening at 8:30 p.m. was just added as well.

For more barbecue, there’s Slow Burn, the "#gastropunk documentary" about East Austin barbecue.
