Mid-September brings gallons of beer with the beginning of Oktoberfest, the state’s craft beer festival, frozen jelly beer, and a new beer launch. Add these nine events to your calendar this weekend.

SOUTH AUSTINTaste the new beer from South Austin Brewery, Evel Ale, named after daredevil Evil Knievel, tonight from 5:30 p.m. to midnight. All pints are $3. [EaterWire]

AUSTINEasy Tiger is starting Oktoberfest right with its Austin Beerworks partnership: a German-styled Märzen beer called Montecore. It'll be available for $5 on Saturday, September 19 from 12 to 6 p.m., along with other beers and bratwurst. Over at Brew & Brew, the coffee/beer shop will be pouring Karbachtoberfest with free steins starting at 1 p.m. [EaterWire]
