— Texas-style barbecue is making more of an appearance in the Carolinas, according to Southern Living barbecue editor Robert Moss. This applies to methods (wrapping brisket properly) and serving presentation (metal trays, butcher paper, onions).

— Wine bar Vino Vino hired a new chef: Jessica Peterson, who previously worked in La Condesa and Arro.

— Coming attraction Austin Central Library is now looking for a restaurant for the new downtown space. The restaurant must serve breakfast, lunch, dinner, have a full bar, and be able to cater. The main library will open in November 2016.
