— The second Mobile Food Throwdown was this weekend and Austinot.com covered the event and the lobster roll competition. Food truck Garbo's took home the People's Choice vote, while Dock and Roll won the judges over. Organizers of the event are already looking forward to planning next year's Throwdown.
— Taco stand El Chilito will open third location on Burnet Road by November 1. This restaurant will serve the same menu as the other locations — more chances for puffy tacos, breakfast all day, and cochinita pibil.
— Neighboring town Round Rock will seek to attract Austin food trucks now that an ordinance has passed allowing the mobile kitchens within the city. Businesses are permitted to sponsor trucks on their properties. Bluebonnet Beer Company already asked food truck Sweet -N- Cheezy to stop by to feed brewery guests.
