Texas senator, Republican presidential candidate, and wannabe cowboy Ted Cruz revealed he likes to cook bacon by firing a machine gun in a video on the Independent Journal Review. In it, he went to a shooting range in Iowa and wrapped strips of bacon around the barrel of the gun, covering it tightly with foil. As he shot a hanging paper target multiple times, the heat from the gun cooked the meat as grease splattered on the floor. When he was done, he picked off the sizzling meat with a fork from the gun and savored it.
Earlier this year, Texas governor Greg Abbott wrongly told IJR that sauce was the most important thing to barbecue. He immediately regretted that declaration.
