La Barbecue is relocating once again. The barbecue trailer is packing up its current home at the Good Life Park and will move further east to the Aztec Food Trailer Park on E. Cesar Chavez in late September. This way, the trailer can open during nights for the patrons of the neighborhood bars: next-door neighbor Stay Gold, Craftsman, and Drinks Lounge. Evening hours haven’t been decided yet. Pitmasters Jack Zizzo and Esaul Ramos, along with other staffers, will take advantage of the new spot by making and selling housemade pickled vegetables like okra, jalapenos, cucumbers, and more.
Alison Clem, La Barbecue's general manager, told Eater they’ll "be planting our wheels here for a long time." The trailer will wrap up at Good Life Park on Monday, September 28, and reopen at Aztec Food Trailer Park on 1908 E. Cesar Chavez on Wednesday, September 30. They pulled out of the potential brick and mortar on South Congress earlier this summer.
