SOUTH FIRST — Since Lenoir’s closed for the week, sous chef Daniel Medina is taking over the space for a pop-up dinner series from Thursday, August 20 to Sunday, August 23. Medina used inspiration from upstate New York for the North Folk dinners presented by Fwd. Reservations for the five course dinner with optional drink pairings (full menu below) are $50. [EaterWire]

  • Foie gras doughnuts and black garlic, paired with an Austin Eastcider
  • Cured trout, charred apple, sour cream, and fermented green onion jus, paired with Reisling
  • Roasted crab with boiled peanuts, mustard greens, and cured egg yolk, paired with a Spanish beer made with sea water
  • Charred lamb, and grape and shallot broth with brassicas, paired with Blaufrankish
  • Fennel seed torta de' aciete with rhubarb confiture and parmesan gelato
