Personal driver app Uber is expanding its food delivery service UberEats to Austin beginning Wednesday, August 19. Restaurants already lined up include East Side King, Swift’s Attic, Koriente, Banger's, Henri's, Gourdough's, The Peached Tortilla, Chi'Lantro, and more.
For weekday lunch between 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., users will be able to open the program and choose from the daily limited menu options. Once ordered, their meal will be delivered within ten minutes. Prices range from $4 to $12, with an additional $3 delivery fee. The current delivery service area is contained between North Lamar, West Cesar Chavez, I-35, and West 38th Street, with plans to stretch the boundaries in the future. For UberEats’ opening, orders of East Side King’s waterfall pork with rice and Brussels sprout salad or the khao man gai with roasted cauliflower will have a $1 delivery fee for the first two weeks.
UberEats is already available in Los Angeles, Barcelona, New York, and Chicago. Other food delivery services in Austin include Favor and Postmates.
