— To properly feed the crowd at the XIT Rodeo over the weekend, there was a "Texas-sized" barbecue pit to smoke 10,213 pounds of beef. The rodeo and reunion for ranchers and cowboys took place in Dalhart, Texas.

— The vegan cooperative bakery Red Rabbit is shutting down. Doughnuts will be available at Wheatsville, and "we are working on a plan to ensure that delicious vegan donuts will remain available in Austin," according to the Facebook post. The North Loop trailer closed last summer.

— Cesar Chavez neighborhood group El Concilio wants Austin to stop issuing building permits for dining, drinking, and hospitality services along East Cesar Chavez, so the neighborhood can create a master plan for area development. It’s where the Blue Cat Cafe is going up next to the demolished Jumpolin space.

— The Bee Cave spot of the Vietnamese restaurant Hai Ky, from the owners of Winebelly, closed down. There are still two locations open on Oltorf and Spicewood Springs Road.
