— Since it's all politics all the time right now, Texas Monthly's Daniel Vaughn had some fun inventing barbecue-related slogans for Austin, including Aaron Franklin and his meat-filled ticket. Brisket would win for president over ribs, though.

— Some jerk(s) defaced the "I Love You So Much" sign at Jo’s Coffee Shop and was fixed immediately. It's happened before.

— What’s important while barbecuing to Aaron Franklin? Air flow and maintaining the temperature. His tips are among more chefs, low and high, in a USA Today roundup, including Guy Fieri, Pat LaFrieda, and actress Ali Larter.

— Miche Bread has officially started delivering carby goods made by a UT neuroscientist. The slow-baked breads are also available for pick-up.
