— Fox News put together a list of the "most influential BBQ pitmasters and personalities." Aaron Franklin was #1. The Muellers make multiple appearances, with John Mueller and twice for Louie Mueller BBQ (once for the family, and again for pitmaster Frederick Louis Fountaine).

— New patio alert: Dai Due unveiled its new one which will be open for diners and private parties starting next week, Tuesday, August 4. The 18-seat space comes with a caja china ready for roasting large meat. The restaurant will offer half-off draft beer and wine from opening day until Sunday, August 9.

— More restaurant favorites from Paul Qui include Baguette House, Snow’s BBQ, and Justine’s.

— The owners of Guero’s want to build a four-story mixed-use project behind the taco bar on South Congress. It would take over the home of Vulcan Video and Eco-Wise, but the two businesses would potentially come back into the new building once completed.
