Philip Speer, the former director of culinary operations for the Uchi Restaurant Group, was sentenced to ten days in jail and seven years probation for his fourth DWI, as reported by The Statesman. He is required to attend counseling and programs, as well as wear a blood-alcohol monitoring gadget for six months. If he disregards any of the terms, he will be sentenced to ten years in jail.

In October 2014, Speer crashed his car while intoxicated into a natural gas pipe at 183 and Cameron, which caused a leak. He was charged with third-degree felony. A few months later, he resigned from the restaurant group, which includes Uchi, Uchiko, and St. Philip.
