Several Austin bars and food trucks are being sued by nonprofit Texas Civil Rights Project and disability activist group ADAPT, citing infringements of the Americans with Disabilities Act, as reported by The Statesman. Of the 21 lawsuits filed in Texas, 14 are in Austin. Eight of those are against food and drink establishments described as being unfriendly to those with disabilities. East Side King was included because customers need to stand on a raised step to order from the window, Whisler’s due to the loose rock floor, and Dan’s Hamburgers for not having proper accessible parking spots, bathrooms, and ramps. The list of restaurants, bars, and food truck courts follows below.
