An alleged thief broke into Hill’s Cafe, the historic South Austin diner, over the weekend and stole $800, as reported by My Fox Austin. Manager Brian Blackwood said that he went into work on Saturday morning on July 25 and,
"it didn't seem like it was real at first. I just came in and saw the broken door and glass everywhere [...] Someone smashed the window, through the door, came in and kicked down the door to the manager's office and stole some money."
He suspects that it might have been someone on staff, but there are no further details. Hill’s Cafe is looking for any relevant information that might help catch the thief. In 2013, the restaurant caught on fire, but quickly recovered in time for Thanksgiving.
