If your most favorite summer activity involves drinking beer while standing in line at a food trailer, you’ve probably already marked your calendar for the kickoff of this summer’s Trailer Food Tuesdays. This year, the event won't happen on first Tuesdays all summer long as it has in the past. Instead, it's folded into annual free family event All Summer Long at The Long Center. So it's been condensed to a mere three dates: today June 9, July 7, and August 4, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
To make up for the scarcity of days, there will be more trucks. Series co-founder and Trailer Food Diaries author Tiffany Harelik says to expect between 14 and 16 food trucks—up from the usual 10-12—all sprawled across City Terrace. There's a cash bar, giveaways, and lawn games along with free workouts and outdoor movies. Harelik adds that this year's event has a "larger festival-style footprint," live music, and more non-food vendors, to boot.
