Hopdoddy Aids in Flood Relief; Taco Art Show; Beer and Tomato Dinners

CHARITY WIRE — Yesterday, both Austin locations of Hopdoddy Burger Bar vowed to donate 100% of sales to benefit flood relief efforts via the Barnabas Connection and raised nearly $45,000. In 2011, Hopdoddy raised $11,000 in response to the devastating fires in Bastrop; the popular burger outlet hoped to exceed that amount this time around. [EaterWire]

HIGHLAND MALL/NORTH CENTRAL — More than 15 local painters, sculptors, and mixed-media artists have joined together to exhibit their interpretations of the national food of Austin, the taco at a monthlong exhibit at Jerry’s Artarama (6010 I-35 North).
