Watch Vice’s Munchies Wait for Salt Lick Barbecue

Why didn’t they visit La Barbecue?

Nadia Chaudhury is the editor of Eater Austin covering food and pop culture, as well as a photographer, writer, and frequent panel moderator and podcast guest.

The second episode of BBQueue, hosted by Vice Munchies’s Pat Dean, visited "upscale barbecue place" Salt Lick in Driftwood. He arrived at 10 a.m. and was amazed that people wait in line for three and a half hours for a table. He also rode the shuttle through the enormous parking lot and tried the beef ribs with owner Scott Roberts. Plus, there’s plenty of gratuitous smoked meat shots.

For the first episode in January, Dean hit up Franklin, where the wait was just a little bit longer.
