Romanouskas Delicatessen, the deli expansion of scratch barbecue trailer Micklethwait Craft Meats, will soft open starting on Friday, July 3 until
Sunday, July 5 Update, July 1, 5:30 p.m.: Saturday, July 4 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The grand opening day is set for Thursday, July 9. Located right next to the barbecue trailer, it will be headed by owner Tom Micklethwait’s former Vespaio co-worker Bobby Lovelett. The red, black, and white artwork that covers the trailer was done by Kenneth Holland, who also worked on the designs for the other trucks as well.
The signature reuben sandwich will be included on the limited soft opening menu, along with the hot dog, chicken salad, and sides. The fuller menu with a slew of sandwiches follows below. After the official opening day, the trailer will be open regularly from Tuesday to Saturday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Romanouskas Reuben: Smoked pastrami and corned beef pressed on caraway rye with housemade sauerkraut, swiss cheese and housemade Russian dressing
All beef hot dog: with housemade sweet pickle relish and creamy dijon mayo
Chicken sandwich: Brined and smoked chicken, pickled grapes and bell peppers and toasted almonds in a tarragon mayo on toasted Schmaltz kolache roll
Smoked beef sandwich: Sliced smoked beef strip loin, spring onion-horseradish mayo, pickled spring onions and arugula on a housemade seeded and salted potato roll
Ham sandwich: Smoked and cured pork shoulder, housemade whole grain mustard, braised mustard greens and pulled pork on a housemade sourdough
Roasted root vegetable salad
Creamy roasted beet salad
