Something for the Weekend: Beer Festival, Crawfish Boil, and More

Spend the last weekend in May doing any of these six great food and drink-related events. Tis the season for beer, crawfish, and pastries.

El Naranjo’s Saturday Brunch — The Rainey Street restaurant extended its brunch to Saturdays starting tomorrow, May 30, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. The same menu will be available, including queso fundido, huevos a la Mexicana, chicharrón, and more. [EaterWire]

Scholz Garten’s Bier Festival — The historic beer garden is throwing its third annual Texas German Bier Festival tomorrow, Saturday, May 30, from 3-7 p.m. Local breweries like Austin Beerworks, Hops & Grain, and Live Oak will serve German-style beers. Tickets are $25. [EaterWire]

Pastry Pop-Up — Inspired by her recent trip to France, Sugar Mama’s Bakeshop’s Kendall Melton is hosting a pop-up on Sunday, May 31. The Parisian-inspired pastries will be available from 9-11 a.m. or until sold out at the Manor store. Plus, ten percent of the proceeds will go towards nonprofit Desperate Housecats. [EaterWire]

Alcomar’s Benefit Brunch — Ten percent of the proceeds from Alcomar’s brunch from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. on Sunday, May 31, will be donated to the Austin Food & Wine Alliance’s grant program. Reservations are recommended. [EaterWire]

Crawfish Boil — Eat all the mudbugs you can at Whisler’s crawfish boil on Sunday, May 31 starting at 1 p.m. The $10 ticket includes a glass of sangria or mimosa, and a lot of crawfish. [EaterWire]
