The relocated diner will open on Airport Boulevard soon.

The iconic Burnet Road building that used to house The Omelettry will be demolished by the end of next week, as reported by the Austin Business Journal. After operating for 37 years, the restaurant officially closed on May 4 in anticipation of the 4631 Airport Boulevard location’s delayed opening. The restaurant held a garage sale yesterday to move remaining furniture. The old space will make way for luxury apartments, according to The Omelettry’s Facebook page.

The Omelettry was forced to look for a new home after being priced out last February. They signed the lease for the Airport Boulevard spot the following March, and construction began in December, while the Burnet Road restaurant remained open until recently. The new incarnation on Airport will open in mid- to late May.
