Moojo Will Bring Ice Cream Sandwiches to The Drag

New, 1 comment

More ice cream just in time for the summer.

Nadia Chaudhury is the editor of Eater Austin covering food and pop culture, as well as a photographer, writer, and frequent panel moderator and podcast guest.

Moojo, a new ice cream sandwich shop, will open on Guadalupe on Saturday, June 13. Formed by couple Matt and Ashley Peterson, who moved to Austin from California, the store will focus on combining fresh cookies, ice cream, and toppings. It’ll help fill the gap left by Coolhaus’s departure. The ice cream is sourced from McConnell’s Fine Ice Cream in California, and the dough for the cookies comes from Lockhart Fine Foods. During the grand opening on June 13, the store will hand out free ice cream sandwiches.

Before its opening date, the ice cream parlor has been catering events and hosting its own pop-ups. The full menu isn’t available yet, but there will Belgian waffle and brownie sandwiches, cookie milkshakes, and more. The shop is currently hiring for shift leaders.

Moojo will be open on Sundays through Thursdays, from 11 a.m. to midnight, and Fridays and Saturdays from 11-2 a.m.
