Neapolitan pizza slingers Bufalina hired McGuire Moorman Hospitality chef Alexandra Manley as its new executive chef, as first reported by Austin360. She most recently worked at Josephine House. With her new position, Manley will also overlook Bufalina’s impending second location, Bufalina Due, at 6555 Burnet Road. Owner Steven Dilley will remain involved with the everyday work at both restaurants. "As we start to grow," he said in an email to Eater as well as Austin360, "I feel it's important to do everything we can to maintain consistency, and I'm confident Alex can help us do just that."
Bufalina Due will still serve its signature Neapolitan pizza and wine, but the menu will also include different items that have yet to be determined. The new larger space will have a traditional kitchen. The hours will change as well. The pizza place will join second locations of Barley Swine and Lick at the Burnet Road project, which are set to open sometime later this year.
