Unit D Pizzeria Will Bring 'Modern' Neapolitan to Cherrywood

Manor Road's restaurant boom continues with the addition of Unit D Pizzeria, according to The Chronicle. The Neapolitan-focused pizzeria will open in Unit D of 2406 Manor Road next to Dai Due this summer.

Owner Shalou Barth, who also owns the building, has partnered with chef Chris Turgeon to create a "deliberately concise menu" of pizzas, small plates, desserts, beer and wine. Turgeon, previously of executive chef of Haddingtons and Hyde Park Bar & Grill, recently completed his VPN Americas certification in Neapolitan-style pizzas.

Barth says in an email that she chose the concept because the neighborhood has been hungering for a pizzeria since The Red House was replaced by Salty Sow. She also says they are not affiliated with the Snapchat-happy and equally mysterious Pizzabelli, another East Austin pizzeria in the works.
