The former home of Tex Mex restaurant Vivo was demolished April 16, which KXAN caught while still in progress. City records indicate the initial permit filed at 2015 Manor Road requested a change of use from restaurant to multifamily for the site, but it is unclear if that change was approved by the city prior to demoliton.
A longtime Cherrywood margarita staple, Vivo has since reopened at The Linc under new ownership. The original Vivo's sudden shutter was marred by a lawsuit alleging some heinous vandalism on the part of the restaurant's former owners, and the space stood vacant for months, a rarity in Austin's booming food and beverage industry.
