Rainey Street newcomer Hotel Van Zandt will add a new restaurant to the booming entertainment district. Geraldine's will be a "locally-inspired" restaurant on the fourth floor of the boutique hotel, with a robust cocktail program, live music, and views overlooking Lady Bird Lake. According to a press release, the restaurant is named "in honor" of Geraldine the guinea hen, a neighborhood mascot who was a struck by a car in 2014 after neighborhood worry that growth would endanger her.
The restaurant will host a hiring event at Banger's on Monday, May 11 from from 2 - 4 P.M., and registration is required. The restaurant is slated to open in late summer of 2015.
