Jacoby's Restaurant and Mercantile doesn't just serve Texas beef -- they serve beef from the family ranch. Perhaps Austin's only vertically integrated restaurant, the charming and stylish space marries city cool with country tradition, and the burger is one of their most popular menu items.
The Jacoby's burger is built with a half pound of beef from Jacoby's Melvin, Texas ranch, served on a housemade bun. Topped with tomatoes, lettuce and onions that come from local farms when in season, the burger is $16 on the dinner menu and only $10 at happy hour. Jacoby's also recently introduced their own veggie burger, and will launch rotating weekly burger specials this week. Eater photographer Robert J. Lerma breaks down the burger, step-by-step.
