Gulf fishmonger Roberto San Miguel's long-in-the-works fish market and restaurant opened this weekend on Cesar Chavez. Monger's Market and Kitchen features a menu of simple, classic seafood dishes by former Kenichi chef Shane Stark. A small selection of gulf seafood is also available for purchase, including red snapper and two types of shrimp.
Mongers opened for dinner only Saturday, and will eventually serve lunch and dinner Tuesday - Saturday 11 a.m. - 10 p.m. and Sundays 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. according to their website. San Miguel posted a short video tour of the space, which features lots of maritime details.
