The booming suburbs west of Austin will get their very own Lucy's Fried Chicken later this year, according to The Statesman. The burgeoning fried chicken empire by Olivia owner James Holmes will take over the former Ignuana Grill space on Lake Travis.

Holmes tells Eater the huge new space will enable the popular restaurant to expand their menu and amp up their entertainment game. A larger kitchen, indoor and outdoor bars, an oyster shucking station and a live music stage are all in the works. An adjacent building on the property will be transformed into an event center, enabling Lucy's at The Lake to host what Holmes estimates could be two to three hundred people.

The drought which has lowered Lake Travis has been hard on lakeside restaurants, but Holmes is confident in the space. "It's a good spot, very funky and old Austin. I drank a lot of margaritas out there," Holmes says. "With all the growth, there's a lot of generic-looking strip mall spaces but very little that's special." He expects Saturday and Sunday brunch could be especially popular with the booming demographics. The new Lucy's is slated to open in Fall 2015, joining their locations on South Congress and Burnet Road.
