ZOMG BBQ — It’s March Madness time and Garden and Gun has its eyes set on smoked meats for the first-ever ultimate barbecue bracket, featuring shops from the South. For the first round, Franklin is pitted against Arkansas’s Jones Bar-B-Q Diner, and La Barbecue with Johnson's Boucaniere from Louisiana. John Lewis is described as a "lanky, bespectacled perfectionist." [Garden and Gun]

EVENT WIRE — If the rain is ruining your plans, don’t fret: Home Slice's outdoor Music by the Slice will have tents set up in the back patio area. The two-day music, pizza, and beer celebration started today and lasts until tomorrow, Saturday March 21 at 7:30 p.m. [EaterWire]

EVENT WIRE — Tickets are already on sale for Outstanding in the Field’s roaming dinner party at Boggy Creek Farm on Thursday, October 22. Dai Due’s Jesse Griffiths will serve as guest chef. The $205 tickets can be purchased online. [EaterWire]
